Bio Char Garden Workshop
April 18, 2020 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Taught by Robert Steck.
Biochar is charcoal used as a soil amendment for both carbon sequestration and soil health benefits. It can improve soil fertility, which stimulates plant growth and it also retains nutrients and holds water, which reduces the need for chemical fertilizers.
Come learn about the history and science of bio char and its uses and applications. You’ll see a retort kiln demo and learn how to make your own kiln. This workshop will be held in the garden and the library community room.
