My Heart is a Chainsaw by Stephen Graham Jones
I absolutely loved this book! However, it's definitely not for the faint of heart. To fully appreciate it, you need a solid knowledge of slasher films and a strong tolerance for gore. At first glance, it seems like a tribute to the slasher genre, but it also delves into deeper themes like race, neglect, and class. If you're up for the challenge, I highly recommend giving it a read!
Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver
Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver is an absolutely wild ride that’ll have you grinning, gasping, and glued to every page! Seriously, who could resist a rom-com featuring two serial killers? It’s like Mr. & Mrs. Smith met Dexter at a party and decided to spice things up with a dash of Silence of the Lambs. Buckle up—this one’s deliciously twisted!
DVD: Lisa Frankenstein
While I had some doubts, this movie was unexpectedly good! This romantic comedy horror film (that's a lot of genres!) follows a misunderstood teenager and a reanimated Victorian corpse on a darkly comedic journey filled with love, laughter, and a trail of mayhem as they search for happiness—and a few missing body parts.
Podcast: Murder in America (available wherever you get your podcasts)
Murder in America is an engaging true crime podcast that delves into the most notorious homicides across the U.S., one state at a time! As a true crime fan, I love how it goes into such fascinating detail. Definetly check this one out!
